St. Hedwig South Bend Wedding

Ceremony: Grace United Methodist Church

Reception Venue: St. Hedwig South Bend

After Ceremony Photos: Doubletree Hotel South Bend

I absolutely have a blast photographing weddings and I feel so honored when couples allow me to share one of the most important days of their lives with them. Sara and Ricky wed on April 25th 2015 at the beautiful Grace United Methodist Church in South Bend. I love how Sara and Ricky incorporated the groom’s hispanic culture by adding the “coin” and “cord” traditions into the ceremony. These items symbolize  prosperity and togetherness for the new couple.

The couple and I met and started planning for their wedding day one year in advance. This allowed us to truly plan together and map out the exact plans for their wedding day. I truly believe that proper planning is the key ingredient for a successful and organized wedding day not to mention that organization relieves wedding day stress. Sara and Ricky’s wedding day went like clock work and turned out to be a beautiful day. We didn’t allow the rainy weather to stop us from creating really cute photographs in between the ceremony and reception. We even stopped for a quick photo op in front of the South Bend Cubs stadium to incorporate the Groom’s love for baseball.

The couples reception took place at the historic St. Hedwig South Bend. The decor was beautiful and the floor to ceiling up-lighting at the venue created a perfect backdrop for beautiful reception photos. If you are considering St. Hedwig South Bend  for your wedding reception, all I can say is op for the “pie package!” It will not disappoint!

Love and Blessings!

South Bend wedding photographer | Tyler & Brittney

Last weekend I had the honor of photographing Tyler and Brittney’s South Bend wedding and I have to say, it was one of the most sweetest ceremonies I have been apart of. The day started with hair and make-up for the ladies in the brides hotel room and groom prep in a separate suite for the fellas. The bride and groom opted to see each other before the wedding ceremony to take care of the family formal portraits that usually happen after the I do’s. I set up their “first look” photos inside of the churches sanctuary which created a private setting for the couple to have a few moments together before their ceremony.

After family formals the bride was tucked away to hide from her guests as they were entering the church. As the ceremony started, the look on Tyler’s face as Brittney walked down the aisle was just as if he was seeing her for the first time all over again. The emotion inside of the church was so high even I started to tear up behind my camera has Brittney and Tyler read their vows to one another. After the wedding ceremony the couple took a few photos in front of the “golden dome” on the campus of Notre Dame. The fall colors of the trees on Notre Dame’s campus were so pretty and tied in perfectly with the couples Fall wedding theme.

Brittney and Tyler you guys are a super sweet couple and it was a joy photographing your wedding day. I hope you and your family enjoy this preview of your wedding day photos and be sure to scroll to the very end of this post for a special preview slideshow. Enjoy! Blessings and Love!

South Bend Photographer | Yost Wedding

It was such a pleasure and an honor to photograph Emily and Kurt  on their wedding day. This was the first time that I had the opportunity to photograph a wedding in the breathtakingly beautiful and historic St. Patrick / St. Hedwig Parish and I absolutely loved it! The day started with hair and make-up with the bride, brides mom, and bridesmaids and continued on to the ceremony and reception. Emily and Kurt knew from the beginning of their wedding planning that they wanted to spend a good portion of the day taking creative photos. They had a lot of great ideas and thoughtfully planned out the locations they wanted to shoot at. I loved that Emily and Kurt were able to have their names placed on the marquee of the State theater downtown and that they opted to stop by Tippecanoe place with their classic transportation for the day. Thank you again Emily and Kurt for allowing me to be apart of your wedding day. Here is just a preview of some of the beautiful images that were captured. Blessings and Love!

Church: St. Patrick’s Parish
Portrait Venue : Tippecanoe Place

Engagement Photography

An engagement photography session is so much fun because it gives me a chance to work with my couples before their big day. During an engagement photography session, couples get the experience of being professionally photographed before their wedding day. When taking engagement photos my goal is to capture the natural interactions between the couple. For the most part I give minimal direction because  I love when couples laugh and smile naturally without force. That’s why it was so cute to photograph Sara and Ricky for their engagement photography session.

Sara and Ricky were great to work with. I could tell that they were both a little bit nervous at the beginning of the shoot. Ricky was actually full of giggles when we first started. The giggles were good because it allowed both of them to naturally smile and laugh without direction. By the end of the session both Sara and Ricky were relaxed and ended up having a lot of fun with the shoot.

I shot Sara and Ricky’s engagement photography session at the River Walk located in Mishawaka. We ended the session in the streets of the city’s downtown area. I loved the couples outfit choices and how the buildings in the street scene coordinated perfectly. Thank you Sara and Ricky for a great session! You guys did an awesome job and I can’t wait to photograph your wedding in April 2015. Here are a few of my favorite’s from this session. Enjoy!

South Bend Wedding Photography ~ Moore Wedding

Last month I had the opportunity to photograph Jennifer and Craig’s South Bend wedding. The day was perfect and started at the Ivy Hotel near the campus of Notre Dame. The first thing I noticed when I arrived to the hotel  was the really pretty wrap around porch in the front of the building. You can imagine my excitement when the bride, Jennifer,  gave me the go ahead to photograph her dress, shoes, and other details outside on the porch. There are not too many brides that would give the go ahead to have their wedding dress photographed outdoors. Thank you Jennifer for trusting me!  As a result we ended up with really beautiful dress and detail shots which are now some of my favorites to date. I loved the “I DO” stickers on the bottom of the brides shoes. Super cute!

Jennifer you looked absolutely stunning as a bride! I always make it a point after the bride has gotten ready to take a few portraits of her while the make-up is fresh.

IMG_2048_edited-1Jennifer and Craig are big football fans so they wanted to incorporate the sport into their South Bend wedding photography. After the ceremony we traveled to several spots including the College Football Hall of Fame, located in downtown South Bend, for some creative football themed wedding day photos.

You and your wedding party were great to work with. Congrats again to both of you!

South Bend Wedding Photographer

South Bend wedding photographer

South Bend wedding photographer Monica Brazier offers South Bend Indiana brides the very best in South Bend wedding photography. Are you getting married in South Bend Indiana? Who will be your Indiana wedding photographer? Here is a list of some of the things you should consider when looking for a South Bend wedding photographer.

//1 Personality. When selecting a south bend wedding photographer you are selecting more than just a photographer for your wedding day. You are hiring a wedding photographer that will be with you, your family and your group all day on your wedding day. Personality is a huge part of the selection process and should not be overlooked or discounted in any way. Your south bend wedding photographers personality can set the tone for your entire wedding day and your bridal party. Ultimately it can impact your wedding photography altogether. You will more than likely be working with your wedding photographer for a year, or longer in some cases, by the time you factor in your engagement session and post wedding photography and albums.

//2 Price. While price is always a factor when selecting your south bend wedding photographer, it should not be the only thing that matters. All too often we hear horror stories from brides who made a decision for their wedding photography based purely on price. It turns out to be foolish in the end. When its all said and done, your wedding photography will be all you have to remember your wedding day.

//3  Wedding Albums. What will you do with all your images from your south bend wedding photographer? Most people opt to place them in a beautifully designed wedding album that your wedding photographer should provide you with. Don’t underestimate the importance of a wedding album from your wedding day. This is your first family heirloom and your one keepsake you will have forever to remember your Indiana wedding. When selecting an Indiana wedding photographer you should look for an album that best represents you and your new family. Wedding albums come in all shapes and sizes. Questions you should ask. Your Indiana wedding photographer 1) How many pages come in the wedding album? 2) How many images will be in the wedding album? 3) What leather options are available for my wedding album?

//4  Coverage. Something often overlooked when selecting a South Bend wedding photographer is the number of hours that will be offered during the coverage of your South Bend wedding. Typically you will want your wedding photographer to be with you to document all the moments of your wedding day. After all, that is what you are hiring them for. That being said, typical coverage requirements for your wedding day should be about 8-10 hours. Be careful here. Some South Bend Indiana wedding photographers offer cut-rate prices by offering you less than adequate wedding coverage for your day. These become hidden costs and once you realize it, it is often too late.

//5  Number of wedding photographers. How many South Bend wedding photographers will be at your event? Most events need at least two wedding photographers. This ensures that your wedding photographer is focused on working with your group and directing the day and allows the second wedding photographer to have coverage going on at the same time. We find that by having two South Bend wedding photographers at your event, your wedding photography needs can best be met all while ensuring that nothing gets missed from your big day. Monica Brazier is a South Bend wedding photographer based in South Bend Indiana offering wedding photography in the state of Indiana, Chicago IL, and destination locations.
