South Bend engagement photo session | Michael and Katherine
Location: Potato Creek State Park
Photographer: Monica Brazier Photography
Thank you Michael and Katherine for choosing me as your photographer. You guys are naturals in front of the camera and made my job super easy. The couple chose Potato Creek state park as the backdrop to their engagement session photos and this location did not disappoint. Early Fall scenery combined with a super cute couple is a recipe for greatness. I look forward to shooting your wedding in May. Congrats to you both!
I am convinced that anything photography related definitely needs to take place in the Fall. The colors of the season provided a perfect backdrop for Faisah and Brian’s South Bend engagement photo session. It also helps that Faisah and Brian are super adorable together. The couple lives in Michigan but opted to travel to South Bend for their engagement photos. We started the session on the beautiful grounds of the historic Oliver mansion. I love this location because it is blocks away from my studio and is simply a gorgeous area. For a sample of wedding day photos taken at this same location click here.
The second location was also within walking distance from the studio. It might sound different but I love, love, love, shooting in alley’s and abandoned warehouses. Unconventional photo locations, even on the wedding day, can create awesome photos and also makes the wedding day more memorable.
Thank you Faisah and Brian for traveling to South Bend for your engagement photos. I look forward to shooting your wedding in September 2016.
An engagement photography session is so much fun because it gives me a chance to work with my couples before their big day. During an engagement photography session, couples get the experience of being professionally photographed before their wedding day. When taking engagement photos my goal is to capture the natural interactions between the couple. For the most part I give minimal direction because I love when couples laugh and smile naturally without force. That’s why it was so cute to photograph Sara and Ricky for their engagement photography session.
Sara and Ricky were great to work with. I could tell that they were both a little bit nervous at the beginning of the shoot. Ricky was actually full of giggles when we first started. The giggles were good because it allowed both of them to naturally smile and laugh without direction. By the end of the session both Sara and Ricky were relaxed and ended up having a lot of fun with the shoot.
I shot Sara and Ricky’s engagement photography session at the River Walk located in Mishawaka. We ended the session in the streets of the city’s downtown area. I loved the couples outfit choices and how the buildings in the street scene coordinated perfectly. Thank you Sara and Ricky for a great session! You guys did an awesome job and I can’t wait to photograph your wedding in April 2015. Here are a few of my favorite’s from this session. Enjoy!
