Notre Dame Basilica Wedding | Jacqueline and Joseph

I seriously love all of my couples but Jacqueline and Joseph hold a special place in my heart. Jacqueline and Joseph (J&J), hired me to capture their wedding day despite the fact that this would be my first time shooting at the beautiful Basilica on the campus of Notre Dame. Shooting a Notre Dame Basilica wedding has been a career goal of mine since I started my wedding photography business. I am so thankful that J&J entrusted me and allowed me to reach this milestone in my career.

J&J’s wedding day could not have been more perfect. The whether was gorgeous and the wedding party was super fun to work with. If you are planning a Notre Dame Basilica wedding my advice would be to be on time! The Basilica books weddings back to back on Saturday’s starting at 8:00am and each family is rotated in and out of the church very systematically.

Overall shooting a Notre Dame Basilica wedding was a lot of fun and the staff at the Basilica were very friendly and helpful. After shooting a handful of family formals inside of the Basilica, the wedding party and I walked around campus to capture more fun and creative photos using the beautiful Notre Dame campus as the backdrop.

Thank you so much Jacqueline and Joseph for allowing me to capture your special day! I wish you all the best! Love and blessings to you!

South Bend engagement | Michael and Katherine

South Bend engagement photo session | Michael and Katherine

Location: Potato Creek State Park

Photographer: Monica Brazier Photography

Thank you Michael and Katherine for choosing me as your photographer. You guys are naturals in front of the camera and made my job super easy. The couple chose Potato Creek state park as the backdrop to their engagement session photos and this location did not disappoint. Early Fall scenery combined with a super cute couple is a recipe for greatness.  I look forward to shooting your wedding in May. Congrats to you both!

Winter Engagement Session

Indiana winters are brutally cold and snowy. Every winter I always tell myself, “Next year I’m moving to Florida!” Fortunately I am super blessed to work with amazing couples that can make a snowy winter engagement session smokin hot!

Joe and Erin are actually now Mr. and Mrs. Roe. They wed last year in August and I had the pleasure of photographing their beautiful nuptuials which I will share in a later post. Erin really wanted snow for the outdoor portion of their winter engagement session and just enough is exactly what she got. Joe and Erin were naturals in front of the camera and their winter engagement session turned out really cute! Thank you Erin and Joe for allow me to share these memories with you.

Engagement Photography ~ Emily and Kurt

Engagement Photography ~ Emily and Kurt

Hello and happy Wednesday! Today I am reposting the engagement photography session of Emily and Kurt because their October wedding is just around the corner. The couple shared a love for Starbucks and coffee in general so they wanted to incorporate the drink into their session. I thought it was a super cute ideal and it allowed the couple to enjoy two things they love, coffee and each other, during their engagement photography session. Even though Emily and Kurt’s engagement photography session was in April, the scene outside of Emily’s parents home resembled fall. This was perfectly fine because the scenery will match perfectly with their fall October wedding. When Emily and Kurt display their engagement photos during on their wedding day, the fall themes will all tie in together.

I absolutely love shooting engagement photography sessions. It gives me a chance to work with couples before their big day and gives the couple a chance the experience being professionally photographed. Many couples are shy and nervous at the beginning of the session. The guys always express to me how much they hate being photographed. By mid session the couples usually forget I am even around with my camera and they just enjoy the experience together. My goal during an engagement session and the wedding day is to always capture natural moments and interactions. To me, a great photo captures emotions and has a little bit of mystery to it at the same time. (more on that in a different post. haha).

Here is a preview of Emily and Kurt’s engagement photography session. Congrats to you both and I can’t wait to shoot your wedding a couple of weeks. Love and Blessings!

Engagement Photography

An engagement photography session is so much fun because it gives me a chance to work with my couples before their big day. During an engagement photography session, couples get the experience of being professionally photographed before their wedding day. When taking engagement photos my goal is to capture the natural interactions between the couple. For the most part I give minimal direction because  I love when couples laugh and smile naturally without force. That’s why it was so cute to photograph Sara and Ricky for their engagement photography session.

Sara and Ricky were great to work with. I could tell that they were both a little bit nervous at the beginning of the shoot. Ricky was actually full of giggles when we first started. The giggles were good because it allowed both of them to naturally smile and laugh without direction. By the end of the session both Sara and Ricky were relaxed and ended up having a lot of fun with the shoot.

I shot Sara and Ricky’s engagement photography session at the River Walk located in Mishawaka. We ended the session in the streets of the city’s downtown area. I loved the couples outfit choices and how the buildings in the street scene coordinated perfectly. Thank you Sara and Ricky for a great session! You guys did an awesome job and I can’t wait to photograph your wedding in April 2015. Here are a few of my favorite’s from this session. Enjoy!
